I can even open up a blank file with no blocks in it, copy the dynamic block into that, and the MTEXT will still change its width. Styles are the same between the two files. We bounce between 20, but the issue occurs even if I go from one 2016 file to another. The purging comments led my coworker and me in the right direction to figure this one out. I'm also not certain if this is how ALL properties on MTEXT objects behave, or JUST the width factor. This feels like a bug to me, but I haven't experimented enough with it now to know for sure. To resolve this issue, I'm having to either make sure the default width in the new document is the same as the template (which on any new file should be, but older files needing to be updated may not match) OR I have to manually set the width factor value of the MTEXT object I am moving prior to copying and pasting it. So it appears to be the case that if the MTEXT object did not have its width factor manually set, then it adopts whatever the default width factor (Under STYLE settings command) of the document is after being pasted into the new document, regardless of what the width factor of the MTEXT object was in the original document. This is a big hiccup to my workflow.Īnyone else encounter a similar issue and/or knows a solution? I would much rather be able to just copy and paste the dynamic block as a whole to save time.
ACAD 2016 MTEXT UPDATE
It turns what should be a very quick coversheet update into a much longer ordeal where I have to go into my old dynamic block, manually copy the text out, and paste it into the new dynamic block in the new project. The width of the MTEXT objects seem to change causing a lot of overlapping text. If I open a new file based on my template file, there is no issue, however if I were to copy the dynamic block (the cover sheet) to an older file (to update the cover sheet of the older file, essentially) I've noticed that the MTEXT Formatting changes.
ACAD 2016 MTEXT FREE
There is very little free space, so formatting is important to prevent any overlapping objects and keeping a clean coversheet. Within this dynamic block are multiple objects, including some MTEXT objects. I've surfed the web a bit for a solution to this problem and haven't found anything too useful yet, so here I am.īasically, I have a Dynamic block acting as a coversheet for my projects in a template file.
